The food we have always cooked, slowly.
At sa Fonda we cook Menorca through its traditions: time-honoured recipes, Mediterranean produce and dishes that need time. Slow cooking, often in greixoneres and earthenware casseroles, bringing back the flavours, gestures and recipes that belong to the island’s kitchen. Honest Menorcan and Mediterranean cooking, unhurried and made to place at the centre of the table and share.
Since 1983, when Jose Luís and Margarita started the Fonda, our kitchen has been part of the life of the house. Rooted in Menorcan traditions, it is a kitchen that takes its time and welcomes everyone who sits at our table.
Local produce, traditional recipes and Mediterranean flavours: slow-cooked stews, greixoneres and dishes made to share. We cook with respect for the season and for a familiar, generous way of enjoying good food.
The house has changed over the years; the spirit of the table remains. Hospitality, attention to detail and cooking that continues to tell the story of where we come from.
